Cabrera is one of the most unspoiled areas in the Province of Almeria and has been influenced by the Moors since the 13th century. You can see the Moorish influence all around the minute you enter Cortijo Cabrera.
Cortijo Cabrera lies within the Sierra Cabrera mountain range overlooking a golf course valley.
It is just a short distance from the villages of Turre, Garrucha and Mojacar and is approximately 20 minutes from the long sandy beaches on the coast.
Part of the Cabrera Mountain range is designated as a nature reserve.
The region offers a wealth of leisure activities for all tastes: swimming, sun-bathing, scuba diving, superb mountain walks, golf, tennis and horse riding. Skiers are within a 2 hour drive of the slopes of the Sierra Nevada.
Visitors to the area are enchanted by the stark grandeur of the hills and mountains and the fragrant beauty of the fruit and almond trees nestling among the foothills.
The tranquillity of the area is only disturbed by the distant chiming of bells of the herds of goats that roam the countryside.
