Split into two distinct areas, the town and the beach.
Mojacar Pueblo (town) is a hill top village with whitewashed buildings and steep cobbled streets perched high above the Mediterranean Sea. The place is a haven for artists, writers and photographers and thanks to its charm and relaxed atmosphere has become a popular tourist destination.
Mojacar Playa (Beach), located just 2km from the Pueblo is a beach resort with 17km of sandy beaches. The beach resort has grown up in the last 20 years and is now a lively resort with much to offer. Building restrictions mean that it will never become a high rise concrete jungle. From golf to water ski-ing and everything in between there is something for everyone.
La Fuente: Natural spring water is said to have flowed here since Roman times and was restored in 1876.
Plaza Nueva: Offering splendid views over the neighbouring countryside.
Parish Church de Santa Maria: Begun in 1560 and constructed with a single vaulted nave, it appears more like a fortress than a church.
Castillo: This dominates the village and is now an open viewing platform.
Casa del Torrein: The old customs house.
Puerta de la Ciudad (City Gate): This is the original site of the main entrance to the town since Moorish times. It is a semicircular arch featuring the arms of the town.
